1) Food. I know, I should have culture or politics or something more profound at #1 but I think I have my priorities straight and when you see the pictures below hopefully you'll understand why.
The beef (asado)...widely considered the best in the world:

2) Los portenos.
There's an accent on the "n" in portenos but my computer won't easily allow me to insert it. The word technically means "people of the port" in reference to the natives of Buenos Aires and they're supposed to be some of the most cultured people the world has to offer. They're known to be lively and busy and enjoy loitering in cafes and bars.
Frankly, a picture of random portenos would be downright creepy, so I'll stick to the description.
3) Soccer.
The Boca Juniors is a popular soccer team in Buenos Aires representing the working class. Since I get up in arms over the occasional game of Fifa I imagine the emotions at a Boca game will be an incredible thing to experience. CIEE hosts a group excursion to a soccer game but I hope to attend many a game while I'm in BaAs.As much as going to a Boca game is an urban cultural experience, I really want also to get to a game featuring the Argentine National Team. I've been a fan of Lionel Messi, their young striker who plays for F.C. Barca, for a long time, and seeing him and his team fight their way into the World Cup would be amazing.
